Be careful where you go and when
Who you’re with and what you wear
What you drink and how much
Be sure that no one else has touched it
When walking to your car hold your keys like a weapon
Never unlock it by remote
Lock it back up as soon as you get in
Be aware at all times of potential dangers
Know at all times where you could escape to
Wear shoes you can run in, never wear headphones
If you can get an escort you trust all the way home
Yet for all the lessons young girls and women are made to learn, my brothers and I were never taught to respect and honor their bodily integrity and basic fucking
autonomy.

Actions in our past have untold consequences
Inaction on our part will lead to mass extinction
Self aware architects of self destruction
Biosphere in the throes of a deadly cleansing
We’re not the center
They’re not the top
Close all your windows and doors
Lock yourself inside
Set your home alight
Take a deep breath
Expect not to die
Skylines will sink in the floods
Droughts burn the deserts alive
Our lungs rendered to ash
We’re not the center
They’re not the top

Blue veil of silence
Blue wave of death
I question what
You’ve sworn to protect
Your presence invokes
Both fear and hatred
End the death on our streets
End the occupation
Of our communities
Blue lives do not matter
That’s not the discussion
You’re insane if you can’t see
The reality of this oppression
You are not welcome you are not trusted
You’ve made an enemy of yourself
By waging a war and getting away with
Murder again and again and again
We’ll say their names forever
We’ll say their names forever
We’ll say their names forever
May yours die with you
And Soon

I have your best interests at heart
And I have sacrificed for you
So obey me
Do as I say
Follow my word
Lose yourself
Satisfy me
Or you will pay
And suffer and burn
For all eternity
Because I love you
Because I am your god

I’m Skeptic of Skeptics who sacrifice Justice for fairness and ignore relations of power to level the playfield by crushing the voice of the weak with callous disbelief to favor the already dominant narrative of the real fucking enemy. Of course it's not all black and white but you're just being an asshole.

Wave your flags of narcissism
You’ve brought this on yourselves

Since the second that we're born we're socialized to fill a role
Our identities are forced into a poorly shaped mold
He's so strong She's so sweet It doesn't matter who we are
Who we claim to be or what resides inside our hearts
In the messages we get from media, friends, school and home
Everything in our behavior has a right way and a wrong
How we dress, walk and talk, what we say and how we feel
violently guarded by society Although true none of it's real
So it goes
So we grow
Discouraged to connect on any level that is real
Under the destructive fiction we're so different and opposed
Something that should be beautiful is instead wrapped up in fear
No knowledge of our bodies, our desires full of shame
Interactions with each other solely predicated on
Maintenance of distinction, control, stratification
Or shared identity based only on domination
Everybody gets fucked over by heterosexism
The fucked up attitudes we learn provide the foundation
language and beliefs and insecurities the frame
that support a sexist culture wherein violence is the norm
and it could mean your life to try to opt out of the game
From the confining binary that boxes us all in
to the words we use and jokes we hear when we're just among friends
to silence and tolerance around all forms of abuse
to the conspicuous incidents so easy to denounce
It's all on the same spectrum
All part of the same system
while we operate within it
we create it every day
the fight to overcome it
starts within and never ends
Discouraged to connect on any level that is real
Under the destructive fiction we're so different and opposed
Something that should be beautiful is instead wrapped up in fear
No knowledge of our bodies, our desires full of shame
Interactions with each other solely predicated on
Maintenance of distinction, control, stratification
Or shared identity based only on domination
It's men's responsibility to work to end sexism

Dear pfc. K.C.G. of the 82nd airborne,
You know you could have followed in those footsteps of your fathers some other way, you didn’t have to enlist, and I really wish you never had. This war was never yours to fight, but they deceived you into believing that it was for freedom. Not any of this should have ever happened. You should still be here, still young, still alive.
I know its been a long time now since you were killed in the line of what you were sure was your duty and I’ve come to terms with it, for the most part, but it’s never going to be okay.
The troops had always been monsters. Willing Imperial Slaughterers. Smiling faces before the flag. More shipping home every day. Neatly repackaged for their grieving families.
But I knew you as a little kid, a fucking black belt and a kickass friend. So now I can’t write any of them off as inhuman, and now this shit all hits that much more close to home. This is not how I would have chosen to learn this measure of compassion I never even wanted anyway.
One of the last things you ever wrote home, hastily scrawled on some cardboard you found, the fear becoming clearer with each communication were these words.
Just Don’t Forget Me.
Just Don’t Forget Me.
Well Not To Worry.
Don’t You Worry About That, Little Buddy.
